10 days on the Gaspe Peninsula

After about a year of dreaming, comparing, and gathering information about rooftop tents, we visited Red Bear Outdoors in Toronto to rent one and put it to the test.

We were sold right away and ordered our Tamarack.

Not too heavy for our Volvo XC70 it was a hit everywhere we camped.
Some people never saw one in person, some people weren’t aware that you can mount one on a normal car. But everyone was in awe of the space and functionality.

10 days and 11 nights on the road, soaking in beautiful landscapes, hiking breathtaking trails, and enjoying calm nights in nature. Setting and packing the tent came in handy when moving camp every day.

Towards the end of the year, we ordered an annex and the buyer’s regret immediately kicked in: why didn’t we buy it earlier?!? We have managed to heat the tent successfully during a -10⁰C night. But the privacy it offers when going with friends is second-to-none.

Can’t wait for March to install it back on the car, and score more memorable outings!
