It’s 2:30 am and we are just rolling to camp after packing out a bull elk. Being up since 5:30am the previous day, we are dirty and thoroughly beat down from doing a 7km mountain pack out in the dark. To say that we are exhausted is an understatement and the only thing on our minds is getting camp setup and to going to bed.
This is where our treeline RTT has been an invaluable asset. In a matter of 5-10 minutes, we can have our tent setup and be in bed ready for the following days’ work. The ability to tear down base camp and move if a unit has shown no signs or success or if we are looking to explore deeper into the back country and we use our rooftop tent setup as base of operations while myself and my wife backpack into an area.
What’s the classic saying ” if it fits, it sits”? that is our motto for where we can park the truck, set up camp and get out into the wilderness. It doesn’t start and end there, when we are not hunting in the fall the rest of the year, we are spending numerous nights camping with friends and scouting for following years hunting season.
