Why choose a Treeline Outdoors Roof-Top Tent?
Treeline’s 3rd generation of Roof-Top Tents are our best yet. Designed in collaboration with Goal Zero®, all Gen3 tents are solar-ready, seamlessly integrating with their numerous solar products.
The Gen3 frame and canopy poles have been beefed up. Aluminum tubing with 2mm wall thickness, makes the tent both light weight and extra rugged. Tent frame poles are equipped with condensation sleeves. All the tents come standard with three of Treeline’s signature oversized patent-pending awning windows that can be rolled up for unrestricted views.
Other features unique to Treeline include our patented shoe/utility storage bags, utility net on the underside for additional storage, hi-tech Diamond Rip-stop rainfly and heavy duty rubber latches for storing heavier gear like rods and paddles, keeping them safe and out of the way. As always, the tents setup and take down in minutes. Large hinges allow storage of bedding inside tent while collapsed. They also come with a built-in, waterproof, high density 2 ½” foam mattress made for max sleeping comfort that can stay inside the tent during travel.
What size of vehicle is a Treeline Roof-Top Rent compatible with and how does it mount to the roof racks?
Treeline Roof-Top Tents are compatible with most vehicles. Our standard-sized models (Lodgepole, Tamarack, Tamarack Constellation and Goal Zero) are suitable for anything from a compact car through to a full-size pick-up truck. Our larger models (Ponderosa Constellation and Redwood Constellation) are ideal for a mid-size SUV or mini-van on up.
Our patent-pending quick-release, easily hand-tightened bolts universally mount to the cross-bar of any standard roof rack (minimum 30” wide). For any roof rack that is smaller, they will mount with minor modifications. Roof-Top Tents are the ideal compact camping solution, storing flat in a garage or shed, or can be left on the vehicle all year-round with the included weather-proof travel cover.

How long does a Roof-Top Tent take to set-up?
The Roof-Top Tents setup and take down in minutes, quicker and more convenient to set-up than traditional ground tent, once the travel cover is off. 1-4 minutes.
Are Treeline Roof-Top tents durable for all weather conditions?
Our Roof-Top Tents are designed for the Canadian climate. They are all built from 380g Poly/Cotton Rip-stop Canvas that provides maximum shelter from wind and rain, and 2mm wall thickness aluminum tubing for internal strength of structure, which will withstand snow load.
Adversely, for the more arid hot climate, we have integrated two ventilation ports as well as patent-pending roll-up awnings and fully-zippered mesh screening on all windows and doors which will provide a cool nights sleep atop your vehicle.
Having tested them under all weather conditions, they are suitable across all four seasons.
What does Solar Ready mean?
All of our Roof-top Tents are compatible with Goal Zero® Solar products. Specific design features include two D-rings for hanging lights inside, and easy mounting of solar panels and associated charging station.
How do I choose the Roof-Top Tent that is right for me?
For 2-3 people, our most popular model is the Tamarack Constellation. The Constellation has dual skylights on the tent and rainfly. It has an aluminum honeycomb base making it one of the lightest tents in our collection.
The Lodgepole is our entry-level model. It comfortable sleeps 2-3 and weights-in slightly heavier with an Aluminum and Polyurethane base.
Our premium model that is perfect for 2-3 people is the Tamarack Constellation: Goal Zero Edition - created in collaboration with Goal Zero. It comes complete with skylights, a solar kit and an Annex with floor, and is bright Goal Zero green/grey in colour.
For 3-4 people, the Ponderosa is our mid-size Roof-Top Tent. It’s large enough to sleep up to 4 people and comes complete with all of the benefits of our Gen3 line.
For 4 or more people, the Redwood is our largest Roof-Top Tent in the collection. It’s ideal for families or for small groups of friends sharing the space.
How do children like Treeline’s Roof-Top Tents?
In our experience, whenever children get up into a Treeline Outdoors Roof-Top Tent, they don’t want to leave. It’s like sleeping in a treehouse with the best view in the forest.
The rip-stop canvas walls are thick enough to keep the Roof-Top Tent quite dark when the sun comes up. Think cozied up and sleeping-in while camping with the comfiest mattress around. The waterproof removable mattress cover is a bonus keeping your space easy to clean with the little ones.
The Ponderosa and Redwood models offer additional space for the entire family.
What warranty does Treeline offer on Roof-Top Tents?
